Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 July 2026.
This policy explains what BritSpeech collects and why, both on this website and inside the mobile app. We keep the amount of data we hold to the minimum the product needs.
What the website collects
The website is a simple set of pages that point you to the app. It does not ask you to sign in and does not run advertising trackers. If we use privacy-respecting analytics to count visits, it is aggregated and cannot identify you.
What the app collects
When you record a line, the app captures that short audio clip and a text transcript so it can score your pronunciation. Audio is used to produce your result and is not sold or used to build a voice profile of you.
The app stores your scores and progress so you can track improvement over time. If you create an account, we hold the details you give us, such as an email address, to keep your progress on your device and across sign ins.
How we use it
We use your data to run the product: to score your accent, show your progress, improve the coaching, and keep the service working. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
Your choices
You control the microphone permission and can withdraw it at any time in your device settings. You can ask us to export or delete the data tied to your account by writing to hello@britspeech.com.
Retention and security
We keep personal data only as long as your account is active or as the law requires, and we protect it with reasonable technical and organisational measures.
Children
BritSpeech is intended for adults and older teenagers working on their English. It is not directed at children under 13.
Changes and contact
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date above. Questions are welcome at hello@britspeech.com.
